Location: Hamilton Hill, Western Australia

The brief for this garden was to design the front garden for privacy, and to make the backyard space a liveable outdoor room, with a pergola with seating for 6, a fireplace, a small shed for gardening tools and materials, a space to wash bicycles, shade trees, and plenty of lawn and digging spaces for the owners’ adorable and very energetic dog. We added bluestone and timber, lighting, and a relaxed mix of Western Australian and Mediterranean planting, to spark off the owners’ formidable collection of succulents.
