Location: Kardinya, Western Australia

The owners of this Kardinya garden were looking to freshen up the presentation of their 1970s home, and to integrate the existing Hill’s hoist and their collection of antique garden furniture into a low maintenance garden with a lawn.

Existing planting was kept, and existing materials were re-used where possible, to lend character to the new materials. The clean curve of the brickwork, the mixed materials paving, a string of garden lights, and the iconic washing line give this garden a mid-century, distinctly Australian feel.
