This family of three were dreaming of an edible garden, a shade tree, and a bit of lawn for play.

The very wide but shallow layout required structuring. Boosting the fertility of the water-repelling sandy soil was an important focus, to be able to grow edibles. We fit a 12 square meter raised vegetable bed into the tight space. The hot north-westerly aspect of the garden required a densely planted, robust Mediterranean palette of plants to thrive. Throughout the garden edibles grow amongst pollinator-attracting planting, to maximise harvest.
